If you have need to update your LG RS3 Wall remote/controller for AWHP or Air conditioner you can follow these easy steps.
Procedure is same for all RS3 based remote controllers (AWHP or Air conditioner).
Things you will need:
- RS3 based wall remote
- microSD card
- Firmware (obtained from your local LG support)
- 12V adapter (optional)

Check your current S/W version.
Go to Menu->Settings->Service->RMC Version Information
Check your current version.

Format your SD Card in FAT32 format.

Find part number of your remote.

Find S/W based on your remote part number and extract zipped file to root of your SD Card.

Connect 12V power supply (you can use connection from AWHP or Air Conditioner instead of 12V adapter) and after remote is fully powered on insert SD Card.

After remote is fully powered on and SD Card inserted you can go and push reset switch on PCB.

Once reset switch is pressed screen will be black (this is normal), please wait few minutes until Power LED comes on again.

When Power LED lights up, firmware update is completed and you can remove SD Card.

Press reset switch again and remote should power on with new firmware installed.

Go to Menu->Settings->Service->RMC Version Information and check new firmware version.
As always update firmware with caution as you can easily brick your device.
